My interest in Canadian Geese came about while watching a movie that was made by Walt Disney Productions under the Buena Vista Pictures name called, "Those Calloways". It was made in 1965 and it starred Brian Keith, Vera Miles, Brandon de Wilde, Walter Brennan, Ed Wynn and Linda Evans. My family and I saw the movie at the Norton Air Force Base theater for probably for 25 cents. The film follows the trials and tribulations of a Vermont family over a period of time as they attempt to establish a sanctuary for the Canada geese that stopover in their rural community during their seasonal migrations. Much of it was filmed in Vermont, and the seasons of Fall, Winter and Spring are shown in the movie. The movie was ahead of its time for presenting an awareness for migrating ponds for ducks and geese.
