..:Goodbye Harry Houdini

Tomorrow i will let Harry go -into the woods behind my home.. i did a good job in healing his Paw and making him healthly...i would have kept him, but his paw is strong...One of the most funniest times of my life...Houdini because he escaped his cage many times and i couldnt figure out how....Macro/frame in corel

Our son raised a raccoon from the time he hardly had his eyes open (around 5 weeks old). He was found alone at the side of the road and after backing off and waiting a good length of time to see if the mother would show up, they brought him home. Bottle fed him kitten replacement, grew like a weed, and very affectionate. We converted a stall in our barn for Ronnie and he lived in captivity for a year until we felt he was old enough to take care of himself. That was a year ago and Ronnie still comes back home here for visits and human food treats :) (he knocks on my son's window) Until you know a raccoon personally, you can't begin to know how smart they are. They know far more than we ever imagined. Glad there are other people like you who help animals in need. Kudos!

Cool image. You are wise to let him go. I had a friend who had pet racoons, one after another. It was O.K. when thety were young but as they matured, they just went nuts. One hung itself, another climbed up a neighbours tree and would bark and growl at anyone who came near. The neighbour shot it. So may Harry be blessed and maybe he will bring his family around to visit the person who mended his paw.
