Thats great color and form . I love it

Artist Reply: Well, I delived Joe to his new owner last weekend, amidst butterflies and nauseu (on my part) - I always convince myself that my work is useless immediately prior to delivery. She loved the painting, thought it the perfect likeness representationally and in spirit, and pronounced the whole experience to be 5 star. Deep sigh of relief, and it's on to the next one!

Amazed and think you really got it right. The light have the right direction so its darker longer in the stable. The horse stunning.

Faith Bengtson 08 Sep 2005

Captivating!! Nice use of color in the shading of the horse. Well done.

Hello Kimberly. This is a very beautiful painting. However, in my oppinion the right side of the horse should be alot darker since the only light source is on the opposite side.

Ruth Tyson 08 Sep 2005

Stunning! I love the colors you used in this and the pose is perfect!

Artist Reply: Thanks so much, everyone, for your feedback. This painting was a struggle for me, and Joe was painted out and redone several times - once to better position his legs, another time to tame back the dark shadows on his chest, and a third time just to even out all the colors. Yes, he most likely could have a bit more shadow on his ribs - but with each piece, I have to eventually draw the line so to speak, and say that it's done - otherwise I'll continue to tweak it for year at a time!! I love the painting and all that it represents - light, energy, beauty, the stillness of a moment. Thanks again!
