this is excellent the control of media is exquisite, again if ind myself wondering how big this is, the colours are lovely, and once more youe have detailed rock beautifully.

it's all about the solidity & structure, and the dissolving of it into abstraction...and the muted pallete is beautiful!!!

Artist Reply: thankyou for your thoughts on the art, an intuitive comment such as yours is a delight to read. Sometimes, the more simple you attempt to convey a subject, the more complex it becomes. Painting a single rock becomes something more.

Very impressive. I would have photographed this rock had I seen it. I love big chuncks of rock like this just sitting heavily on the land with all their groves, chips and shadows.

Artist Reply: this was created based on one of my photos along the Grand Canyon, so you and I are in the same boat... the shapes and shadows get me.

Ahh... I am back in New Mexico.. There are butes all around me and the crisp sunlight cuts sharp shadows across the plain... Thanks for "taking me there" with this fabulous image.
