I think it was in the eighties when we had a Dutch band (Klein Orkest) who made a song called "over de muur" (over the wall, refers to the Berlin wall). "Only the birds can fly from east to west, without being shot or sent back..." Sadly this song is still actual, maybe not so much for Berlin specifically, but for all of us. This work is about a bird protecting the "inner bird", our freedom of speech and freedom to travel where we want to... We all have an inner song, that needs to be heard by the rest of the world. May this bird be free to sing wherever and whatever it wants to ...
