Trapped under the ice

(c) 2006 Elton Houck...This one is obviously not meant to be a meadow of colorful delight, but instead it is a moment of great intensity and extreme mortal danger... This selection is what I call "scanogrophy" It is a photgraphic presentation originated and completed on the scanner--with the exception of color agumentation, reversal, or distortion completed via computer.

Well, Elton...there are some really powerful ideas starting up here...I think the rope is too constrained/contained by the "borders" of the image...and maybe the face and hands are almost too subtle next to the high-contrast of the rope... I also think another direction is almost x-files meets CFI...:-) The bar code is a very strong element...that really gives an "evidentiary" quality... It's also interesting how the celophane(?) in the upper left becomes a fashion photo... I think the distortion and transparency of the material you're copying through has great potential for some really stirring creations/discoveries! ...and, of course, I do love the "negative" spin..
