Hi Veena, Good work, but my interpretation is a little different. To me, this is like an Alaadin's lamp and when someone(an indian) rubbed it with their hardwork, what appears is a reflection of Rising India...which is approaching towards the sky, ready to accomplish everything......and for this painting, the old saying really holds true - Pictures speak more than a million words. LOVE THE IDEA OF THE CUP OF TEA - SUPER WORK!

Artist Reply: Thanks so much for the response. I am glad you liked it. But you sure got the idea of "tea cup" wrong. Well, that little thing is called "diya." In India, it is a cup that is lighten up during a festival called "diwali." Diyas are supposed to bring light to your family--that is, brightness and glory. On this festival, the entire house is decorated with this cup and the light glows all through the evening. Hope I didn't suck at explaining.
