Passage

Time flows along the riverbanks of history, watching the tides and ripples of civilization lap against worlds that have come and gone, awaiting worlds yet to be.... ©1998, Michael Cook

Perhaps my eyes deceive me, but is that a bubble I see in the shadows? I love the angle and depth of this piece. Very nice.

Michael - my sister sent me an e-card with your beautiful archway - what a lovely painting! And it does make one wonder what is further down the path. I love it!

Artist Reply: Thanks for your nice comments, Regina. I wish you could see the original, since this is not a very good photo of it. We'll never know what's down that path--but some things are best left to the imagination, eh?

If ever there was /will be a painting that invites the viewer to create his or her own life - this is that one.

Artist Reply: Thanks so much, dear poetic, anonymous guest. Are you the muse I haven't yet met in this lifetime? Probably not... As photons go, we are known to each other, regardless of where we are. And you are absolutely right: it is the most important thing for everyone to create his or her own life--even from scratch, if necessary. (But that's never the case, is it?) Congratulations on getting the complete metaphysical message on this one! And thank you!
