Anthony Frank "Tony" Hawk (born May 12, 1968 in Carlsbad, California) is a professional Americanskateboarder. He is considered the pioneer of modern vertical skateboarding. Hawk's nickname is the "Birdman.". He was the first person to perform many tricks, but is most famous for being the first to land the 900 (two and a half complete rotations900°in the air before landing back on the pipe) in a competition.
