Rare shiny green crysallis

A crysallis I have never seen before - and one of the very first photographs taken with my MP-E 65mm f/2.8

I'm pretty sure it will emerge as a butterfly. I have had silver one's on my miniature fig tree in a pot on the verandah. Great Macro Curtis, look forward to seeing more with your new MP-E 65!!!!

What sort of bug does this turn into or come from? It is the ultimate in unique! It sort of has a partial reflection of you taking the picture. Great work!

hi curtis. the last time i looked at this pic i was about to say that it looked like a cicada and then i realized where you were and thought i don't know if you even have them on your side of the planet. regardless, it's a phenominal shot. gotta wonder if, with the help of modern technology, you could actually make out your reflection in its casing.

Artist Reply: Hi Sheila, yes, we have sicadas in Australia! lots of them! they can be deafening at times! And in some of the photos I took of the chrysalis - there were minor reflections mostly of colour :-) thanks for commenting on my photography - I love it.
