Hydrangea

This is an early oil painting I did when I first started painting again after many years of not painting to raise children. This is an oil on 8x10 canvas and is from a photo I took of a hydrangea in my garden. I do not use projectors I free hand all my paintings.

Wonderful Artistry

Beautifully done! I think some art judges de-value realistic art because it isn't "interprative". I feel that realistic art can make a statment too!

I thought it was a picture!!!Just what I'm trying to do in my paintings.Wonderful work !

Artist Reply: Thanks Roullet, I appreciate your kind comment! :) I did draw and paint this from a photo I took myself of a hydrangea in my garden. The value system has been one of my best friends in art! :)

Artist Reply: Thank you Monique! so kind all the time, I appreciate it very much! I believe I used a magenta in oils and was very pleased with the intensity of this color without blinding the viewer! :)

Fantastic painting and such a favorite subject matter! WOW !

Artist Reply: Thank you so much Claude I appreciate you commenting on this one. It's still one of my favorites, it symbolizes to me a return to painting again after a very long hiatus of raising children:)
