KATT

this was the second scratch board i ever did way back in '85 during my stint in a commercial art course. the original was an 8x10" which was blown up to 24"x30". this is a photo of the 24x30. he was a stray i adopted and had for 17 years and by the time i got him the only thing he would answer to was 'cat' so i changed the spelling and it became his official name.he went off into a severe sub-zero blizzard when i was pregnant and looking like a beached whale. me and my husband went trudging through 4 foot drifts calling out Katt and i'm quite convinced the neighbours thought we'd both lost it but we never did find him. i figure , like most cats, he knew it was his time and at least it would've been relativley quick and painless.

this caught my attention because it looks exactly like my cat. But all of these are beautifully done.

You do BEAUTIFUL scratch board work, Sheila. This looks like a photograph. I love cats! They have so much expression in their eyes. 17 years is quite an accomplishment for a cat! I just lost my 15-year-old kitty this past summer. :-( He was certainly a member of the family.
