The Sunday Afternoon Visit Contemporary American Folk Art Series Acrylic on 8x10 inch canvas panel protected with satin varnish. Unframed. I think small art is uniquely decorative and versatile. The inspiration for this painting comes from an old photograph I found in our family album. It is a mystery because no one seems to know these interesting looking people. I imagine them dressed up and either on their way to church or just returning. The pastel colors add a warm glow to the afternoon. I feel as though I surely must have known them in another time and place. Everyone has a way of rewriting his or her own history and painting is mine. Thank you for looking and please know the colors are much richer in person Painted 2007
