One Angry Swan and a Scared Ring-necked Duck

©Delores J. Knowles 2008 -- Ok -- on the lighter side... This was a sight I had to share. Maybe they were just having a conversation, but do you see the wide-eyed terror in the little ducks face? Nothing happened afterwards. They continued to stare at each other for several seconds and then the little duck hurried on by and the swan continued on her path. This Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) and Ring-necked Duck (Aythya collaris) were photographed at a city park in Polk County, Florida.

Delores; that wee duck would eat the swan. Everyone knows its called a Ring Neck because its trained in the black art of ringing swans necks. The swan was actually pleading for its life. LOL XX

Artist Reply: How marvelous! The next time I post this image anywhere, I'm going to use that explanation!!! LOL
