Gold Peaks

For this I used Acrylic paint to build up the contours on stretched canvas and used pearlized metallic acrylic paint for the design and colors. Thus different lighting gives you different shades and sheen from different angles. ........................................ #1 All Galleries Day!

Jack van Vliet Dick de Bruin 15 Jul 2008

Very intriguing abstract, or should I say sculpture? The roughness of the texture catches the light very effectively, the choice of primary colors adds to the vibrancy and the way you added your signature just sets it all off. The overall has a meditative flow, a piece you can stare at for a life time. Very well thought out.

Has a jewelry like quality, as well as a topographic landscape. I'm presently developing some small canvases in a similar way, with small pieces of glass, interference and metalic acrylics.

Really creative work, Sharon! Love it! mel

gerry logan 27 May 2008

Hmmmm!!!! it is different and I can see the gold peaks but I am afraid I agree with Jasmine it is not my cup of tea. I can see you put alot of thought and work into it and if I was into abstract I would love the work and hours I am sure you put into it

Artist Reply: Thank you, Gerry, for your really great comment. The difference in your comment and Jasmine's, though, is that you did appreciate the time spent; you did acknowledge not being into abstracts. I am with you, I prefer realism in painting and landscapes, but also like you, I can appreciate what is Not my Cup of Tea. I also think spice in life is important and trying different things important to living. It adds a different dimension. I appreciate your comment! Have a wonderful day, Sharon

jasmine schmidt 27 May 2008

hm..not my cup of tea.im afraid to say

Artist Reply: That's alright, Jasmine. Each person has his preference; that's why there are so many different kinds of art, techniques, colors, compositions, etc. It would be a dull world if we all liked the same thing. Our strength really is in our differences. Thank you & have a wonderful day, Sharon
