NEW BUTLER

BLUE FOOTED BOOBIE SOUTH AMERICA EQUADOR GALAPAGOS ISLANDS----------------------- As I passed this whimsical looking bird on the trail he looked for all the world like a butler waiting to take my hat. These seabirds spend most of their lives far out to sea. Expert fishermen they will sour several hundred feet above the ocean looking for schooling fish. Upon spotting a meal they will fold their wings and drop like a rocket to spear the fish on their razor sharp beak. They are also expert divers and can be seen swimming underwater with those webbed feet to depth of fifty or sixty feet in search of a meal. Note the sharp toenails for gripping their prey; they are perfectly adapted for a life at sea. Their feathers better than a fishermans rain coat, instantly shedding water.
