The great horned owl has a very poor sense of smell, which could be why it is the only consistant predator of skunks. Owls have specially designed feathers on it's wings: The leading edge of the first primary feather is serrated rather than smooth. This allows the owl to fly noiselessly. Taken at GVZ, Aldergrove, B.C.

Super capture of this beauty, love how you capture the feathers they looked fluffed up I did not know about the smell factor isn't it amazing how god makes every creature just about the way it needs to be super job
