Luminosity - Study in Opal Inlay and Pearl

UPDATE: This piece was chosen to be exhibited at the Colored Pencil Society of America's 8-state regional, bi-annual "Midwest Color 2008" Exhibition in Dearborn, MI from Sept. 25 through Nov. 1, 2008. ~ The bland scan doesn't do the colors and little details of this piece justice. I'm fascinated with the color-change of gems, feathers, etc. so I attempted to recreate some of that beauty in this piece. It took a horribly long time to finish because I had so much fun with it. The actual picture is the diagonal tile, not the black background (which was only for upload purposes). Hope you enjoy it! Original - 12"x12" on white paper.

I bet it's quite an eye catcher in the flesh. Well done!

This is really a wonderful work and I can see in the bird where you would have so much time tied up in it. Extreemly nice work.
