A BUFFALO FOR LEIGH
This is a "pencil" of my wife Leigh. This piece
was
drawn with the full intention of doing a tutorial
on
ArtWanted but it turned into something of an
adventure of sorts for myself and many artists
who
chose to "sit-in" on this class.
I started the tutorial with the techniques that I
use
to get my reference on to the last stroke of my
pencil. To break everyone in on a "pencil" they
were
familiar with, I started with my self-portrait
"HEAVEN AT 10,000 FEET" and on into Leigh's
portrait. I started "A PENCIL FOR LEIGH"
tutorial on
February 21, 2004. 24 days and 134 total posts
later I finished up. I only had roughly 24 hours
of
total "pencil" time on the drawing but the
tutorial
probably took 60 more hours alone.
This was a tutorial but it turned into a "true
labor of
love." Enjoy!
Sincerely,
Denny "The Buffalo" Karchner
