Oil on canvas 42 x 48”/107 x 122 cm During a trip to the edge of the ice floe off the coast of Baffin Island I felt that my Inuit friend and I should have had a boat instead of a dog team. There was already a good deal of water over the ice as the early summer heat started to have a powerful melting effect. The colour of the ice under the water made me think of the view of the sea in Bermuda
