No one knew his real name, but us kids knew him as "Crazy Ben". An apparent homeless guy who hung out around town, but mostly in the nearby forest preserve. The older kids that seen him by day would tease him, but us other kids only heard stories of his maniacal behavior, and why we should fear him in the shadows at night. Yes, we were all spooked by legend of Crazy Ben, as this killer who came out at night and chase kids who weren't in by curfew. Whether real or legend, he left a lasting memory on me. Now, here to wish us all a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! ~S
