Turtles

I created this piece for a special friend. Both families took a day last year in 2008 and we visited a museum for a winter festival in Hamilton together, where these turtles swam in the aquarium. It is also where I learned my friend loved turtles as much as I do. Turtle – is one of the oldest and most sacred species, symbolizing longevity, wisdom and courage. The turtle shell, which was used as a calendar by the ancient, with the thirteen large squares counting out all the full moons of the year, the 28 small squares on the outside count the days of each lunar month.

Spectacular revision. I know something about these turtles and how fast swimmers they are and the glare from tanks. It would be interesting to see the original. Just a thought.
