Standing close to four feet high, the Great Blue Heron is one of the most majestic of birds. Their diet is mostly fish but it will eat a variety of insects and even small animals. Their bill is yellow with a dusky culmen (the top part of the bill). Lores are yellow to dull green, except during breeding when the lores are a bright green, and their legs are a greenish brown. ©Delores Knowles, 2009
