Shot at the Montreal Botanical Gardens- this is a visitor heron that sometimes comes to the watery areas of the park - saw this heron in the reeds and watched him for a while- and suddenly he dunks into the water and in a split second is up again with this huge red fish which he swallowed in one big gulp - I clicked and clicked - camera was not fast enough for me and I only got one shot, but I got it! F6.3 @ 1/500, ISO:200, canon lens 75-300 IS USM, focla length: 185 mm; no exposure compensation, hand held.

Good thing you got that shot. It sounds like you need a lot of patience with these wildlife shots but none the less, you captured it really well. Its a little wierd though because it looks like the fish isn't exactly in its mouth. I mean obviously it is but too bad the fish wasn't in the middle of his mouth so it didn't look so awckward.Speedy Jobes 29 May 2004
