That is really special. I have read Buddenbrooks many times, both in English and in German and this makes a wonderful image to accompany that most wonderful novel.

wonderful! i've never read the book you mention but this is a wonderful scene. the light photographic and true to realism but some other elements almost like an oil painting to me. i find my eye going again and again to the man in the foreground...he seems to be pondering something. your talent is amazing!
