Wooly Mantis Pelts

This is a pure "oozing" (as opposed to the inked oozings I've recently uploaded. A pallette knife was used on the edges but otherwise no brushes created the image, just water and gravity. A large, 10-foot-tall sheep-like insect indigenous to Smulkulitia, a dry, crumbly planet located about 17 octillion light years to the left of earth (earth's left), the wooly mantis is one of the more disliked of the sentient beings occupying the gramma quadrant of the neighboring Cmxfgtmb galaxy. (I know, get a vowel, right?). However their thick luxurious pelts are a joy to hunt and harvest if you're ever out that way (take the Grelchmont Heights Exit off Orions Beltway). Bring a large buck knife though, they're not the sharpest cheddars on the block but they do put up a fight when they're riled.

Excellent work, the knife just put the edge to it!

Artist Reply: Thanks Cathy! This one should really go in your Gallery, I've got a lot of new work that I would like you to have soem of whenever the place opens. Keep me posted. BTW I may have another show in a really prime New York gallery location in the spring if all goes well!

What a lovely way to work: Experimenting can bring the best surprises! It almost looks like a wax encaustics. Nice text as well RR. Keep them coming! --Love and Light, OLGA

Fabulous,I am really enjoying seeing these brilliant oozings, they are so unique and love the story line with this one.

Artist Reply: Thanky Muchly Ruth! Think how I felt when I came back to have a look after it had been oozing for a few hours. They don't always turn out well, though I've improved my yield over the years by fine tuning my materials and processes, it's still hit and miss. But the upside is, since I don't have to sit there and paint every stroke, I have plenty of time to come up with silly stories about them.
