Welcome to my hobogyliphic collection.
I was looking throw a book called “look and learn” it’s a range of children encyclopaedias my parents bought for my siblings and I when we were kids.
I was looking to see if it would help me get some ideas for writing my lesson plans for school and I sow this section about Hobo codes. It is fascinating that there is a whole language that hobo’s have created to help each other out…apparently the language is being used less as hobos are moving into the technologically age and some hobos have cell phones and access to email. It would be a shame it if was completely lost thought. So I thought it would be so cool to create T- Shirts from some of the symbols.
This is the first in a series of images; of course I’m taking artistic liberties with them and adding some text when I need it.
This symbol tells hobos: “hit the road” I thought of adding, “Jack” to complete my hobogyliphic sentence. You know me this is always a working progress.
I got the information about the symbols from a goggle search. This site was brilliant. Do check it out:
