you did a really beautiful job on this Donald,I love the range of subjects you paint,nice contrasts and colors here and your wonderful greens.
Artist Reply: Thank you Ruth for the kind words. I underpainted this with 4 different colors of gesso to develope kind of banana shape leaves then covered them all with a very light mix of yellow and sap green to develope the background follage after I let it dry before I began the birds and follage in the forefront.
I do love the Red Crested Cardinal! fabulous painting!
