"Shay" is a watercolour painting by professional artist Brazen Edwards-Hager. Shay is a gorgeous draft horse that has had such a hard life. She was starved and ultimately rescued by the wonderful people at Frog Pond Farm - Draft Horse Rescue. Frog Pond Farm acquires their drafts through many means. They attend local and other auctions and purchase directly through the sale ring; outbidding the buyers who ship to slaughter. They also have representatives attend out of state auctions on their behalf, as well as assist the Humane Society on neglect and abuse seizures. This painting had the honour of being auctioned off to raise money for their rescue and I think it's right that the proceeds of print sales continue that effort.
