Big Shoes To Fill

I was passing through Union Square recently when I was visually struck by all the empty shoes laid out like Arlington's Cematary. This was a visual representation of the lives that had been lost because of the recent fighting in Afganastan and Iraq. Union Square had photographers crawing all over it taking pictures. It was quite an event. This gentleman polishing a boot caught my eye.
