Knitchen Hill

Knitchen Hill on Rousay in the Orkney Islands reveiled a depth of colour and wildness one day whilst walking. The weather came in very dark and brooding but added to the intensity.

I like many aspects of this piece; the clouds are well rendered setting a transitional mood of blue to purple. I like what is going on in the foreground with the white tipped plants and the reddish/yellow fields. I wish the piece was larger to view. This is one of my favorites of your gallery. Very nice painting, well done.
