The Greenman

A raised (3D)and embossed cutpaper piece, "The Greenman" was created because so many people wanted to know if I would do one... I cut all the leaves one VERY humid day at the Celtic Concert series and then tossed my sketch out the next day as I started assembly because he had suddenly become vastly different than the sketch had intended. Copyright July 2005. He'll appear in Fairie Magazine for their Fall issue 2005.

I am proud to be Irish and know of artists with your talent among us. This is extraordinary. I do not have the patience nor talent to do what you have done with this piece. Outstanding work- I am a fan!

Artist Reply: Thank you very much, Sandy. I, too, am proud to be Irish (as well as German, Scottish, Native American, and supposedly Central Asian...Egads! I'm a mutt! ;-) I like to remind people that although you may not have the patience to do what I do, I'm pretty certain that everyone has the patience to do something equally enjoyable and powerful to them--and most likely you can do things I can't--Everyone has some talent or gift, in my humble opinion, many just don't give themselves the credit they deserve. I'm glad to count you among my fans, Sandy :-) .

OMG!!.. Green is a persomal favorite of mine!!.. this one is too awesome!!!.. Fantastic work!!

Artist Reply: Cool, Monique! You know what they say about fans of the color green--they tend to have higher IQs (hmm, so how does this tell us about all those who love the Emerald Isle)? :-)

Artist Reply: Thanks, Ryan--I was glad the colors worked so well together, too. It was a bit of luck with that...
