Ive done cowboy hats and know how hard it is to get the bends right, yours blows mine away great job ! was it hard to finish maple? I heard you have to use a different stain etc.

Artist Reply: No stain used, just natural wood color, with a Deft laquer finish. Maple is a good hard wood it cuts nicely very little sanding at the end. Thanks for the commentrs, sorry a late reply visit www.eckmanwoods.com

Wow, that's incredibly well done. The grain is beautiful and you've really brought out the best from the wood.

Thats cool! Is it hollow on the inside?

Artist Reply: sorry for the late reply, the hat is even thickness all the way around. I have too use special large size calipers to guage it. it weighed about 80 lbs at the start now less thatn 10 oz's. You can actually wear it . www.eckmanwoods.com
