I have always loved the look of the French Quarter, and many years ago I was able to stop there on my way to another destination. Ever since then, it has been my dream to go back there. Last year for my anniversary, I ALMOST got to go, but it didn't work out at the last minute. I was so close! I told myself, it's okay, we'll just go next year. Then came August 2005. I wanted to express a feeling of a dream that was lost. I had a ref photo I had taken of a beautiful facade at Disneyland (of all places), and I sensed the irony of the image. This image of a "dream" that does not exist in the real world. It is my idealized dream of what was and what will someday be again for all the people affected by the hurricanes last year. This painting is on Arches Watercolor paper size 30x22". Image is copyright of artist. Andrea Millard - Cloud Nine Designs, 2006.

I've been to both places, and both hold a special place in my heart. You have captured the very essence of the French Quarter. Thank you. VickieChristine brand 05 Aug 2006
