Christmas Magic

Okay, where do I begin to explain this strange and different entry into my portfolio? Well, Terri asked me late last night if I would consider sketching some dogs for her, for a project that she has ideas about. I asked her to name a very popular breed and she said Chihuahua...thst's pronounced "Chee-hue-a-hue-a!" So not having drawn or painted a dog in years, I found a pic and without sketching it with pencil first, I jumped into the deep end with this one shot, and had this 20min later. I took pics and added in the first one, a light flare in photoshop to the ornament. You can see the other example without the photoshop touch-up for comparison. I gave it a shot, wiht a holiday feel to it, and I think it turned out okay. I like painting like this, with no room for error. It really put you to the test. And Terri got a cute holiday painting out of the deal that I did'nt end up trashing like so many others! LOL!

A charming, sweet watercolor! And your technique is wonderful, the style has a bit of a feeling of asian influence, perhaps? Excellent, love it!
