THISTLE FLOWER - 3271

This is a wild thistle for those of you who haven't seen it before. Here in Louisiana we eat them with vinegar, oil, salt, pepper...Mostly it was something we did as kids, but you know how you get a hankering for those things sometimes...Anyway, this is the flower of that plant. They grow by the roadside and in fields. The plant is very thorny and if you want to eat it, you have to work for it....It is good to know it as a survival plant. I will upload an image of the plant when I get one.
