Bearing re-visited

This is that ships bearing re-visited. I can now confirm that this bearing was part of a ships steering gear. The ship used to sail the Bearing Sea in search of, yes you've guessed it; 'Bearings'. Apparently all bearings come from the bearing sea. I never knew that. There was an old chap walking his dog when I took this photograph & he told me all about it. He told me he used to sail on a ship captained by a bloke called Nelson. He was an interesting wee chap & I could have talked for hours. I might tell you more about him later.
