January 27, 1945 is ths date when the largest Nazi death camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated by Soviet troops. The International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which occurs today, is the universal commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. It was designated by the U.N. General Assembly Resolution 60/7 on 1st November 2005. The photo was taken on January 17, 2009 in Berlin (Germany).
