Artist Bio

Irma holds a Bachelor degree in Theatrical Design (set & costume design, puppetry) from Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts (Lithuania, 2004) and Advanced Diploma in Interior Design (Design Centre Enmore, Sydney Australia, 2009). She also graduated from International School of Colour and Design Australia in 2006 and holds a Certificate IV in Design. She is also a painter, has had numerous exhibitions solo and in collaboration with other artists in Lithuania, Czech Republic and Australia. Her works explore issues of culture, language, isolation, family, afterlife. Moved to Sydney 5 years ago, leaving behind a career in Europe. Created set and costume design for numerous theatrical productions in Sydney theatres, production & costume design / continuity for short films. Her work in Australia has extended beyond the set/production design to include solo and group exhibitions of her visual art, symposiums, workshops, further studies and research in colour and design, interior design and jewellery. In 2005-2006 participates in DIS/PLACE project organised by MCA, CAC and ICE, Sydney. In 2009 she works on a short film production design. Irma's visual and wearable art became part of private collections and local galleries in Australia and overseas.
