We make wheel thrown bowls, chip and dip sets and platters. They are made of a mix of white stoneware and porcelain clay. After the pots are bisque fired they are hand brushed with multiple coats of non-toxic glaze. Then they are placed in an electric kiln and high fired to over 2000 degrees. Mountain Side Ceramics is run by Janet and Paul Zurr. We have been in the pottery business for over 11 years now. We started our business back in 1994 on the side of a mountain in Conifer Colorado. Today, we have since relocated to a very tiny town,by the name of Veguita in New Mexico. We each took one pottery class in high school and then many years later decided to open our own business. Basically we are self taught. All of our bowls, chip and dips and platters are wheel thrown. They are made of a mix of white stoneware and porcelain clay and high fired to over 2000 degrees. Each piece is hand brushed with multiple coats of non-toxic glaze. They can be used in the microwave, oven and dishwasher.
