Re: Eva

With great respect staff/AW perhaps it would be an ideal time to assess how to deal with situations such as you have now with Eva.

It has happened in the past, we both know :-) Sometimes however, such as now, a public beating is disturbing to those who are perhaps best worded as "Still Human".

You can't be everywhere all at once I know, but a referee's verdict would go a long way to pointing the way forward to those who choose to go to war.

I know its tricky ground, but perhaps you can find time for some thought on this. On each occassion I have gotten involved I have tried to emphasise that Humans live on the end of computer screens these wars are fought on. I am not new to the ways of the web :-)

Sadly I am hardening to these bloodbaths, as I am sure are many others. It is not something I wish to harden to, ignorance and brutality borne of frustration and misunderstanding, left to run rampant like Wolf Pack mentality or a shark frenzy on the slightest whiff of blood.

I am dismayed by yet another bloodbath. Sorry if I sound like a wishy washy who finds the kitchen too hot, but in reality, this is grim reading.

Yours sincerely Laz

PS this not aimed at anyone in particular, but hopefully instead points out how these things look when you take a step back. The question is not Who the instigator is but How to deal with these types of situations before its too late.

The board moderators should be watching for this sort of thing and putting a stop to it before it escalates to such a point.

Some judicial post pulling (name calling, nasty/personal remarks) should be in the province of such moderators. If the fuel ain't there, the fire can't burn!

We do still have board moderators, don't we?

hi laz

Eva,

Your so popular lol, Im sorry people, I cant help but laugh at all of this, actually, wait im not sorry, I do find this whole thing rather amuzing.

I need to stop watching these threads before the negitivity starts to stress me out again. I left yahoo chat for the same reason, its not helping my higher self to mingle in with drama like this.

Paul Arruda 09 Jan 2005

Wow, this rating thing has really brought the site down low huh.

Its a shame really.

Volunteer of America 09 Jan 2005

Paul--Where did you learn to use a sidearm? MTV videos?

Gayla Drummond 09 Jan 2005

Paul, this isn't about ratings, actually. It's about attacking other people via comments, emails, and message board postings.

Ratings are a teeniny little piece of the whole picture in this situation.

Paul Arruda 09 Jan 2005

Yea but it all comes down to the rating and comment system, its been this way since I joined and it seems like its just gotten worse. Now dont take my comments the wrong way, it just seems like everyone is beating a dead horse, remember the old saying "sticks and stones". I have never taken sides and don't ever plan to, I don't rate or comment on artwork I dont like or flame if I get a low vote, nor would I attack someone for voting an image low.

They blur out the firearms in MTV videos so I had to use my imagination, heh, but it was for a photoshoot when I was in school, not a serious picture.

It seems like every time we step into situations like this, we always end up being the bad guy.

In the past, when AW starts removing threads or portfolio accounts or banning people, because of things they say or do, there is always a backlash from that person or other members that ends up being worse than the original situation for us. It's a very fine line to moderate this site and no matter what decision we do, there are always people that are upset at us.

We always try and judge fairly each situation and act accordingly. Many times a simple warning to these offending members will do the trick. Other times, it does not and we have to take more aggressive actions.

All we can say is that if you have a problem with a member and what they are doing, e-mail us about this member. (don't post it on the boards) If we get enough of these e-mails, then we act upon it, because we feel we are justified from our members. Thanks.

Thanx Staff/AW for the post. I know in the most recent past I have been against you in these matters, but overall I have been for this site and what it gives to others as a whole.

What you have posted here is a "perfect" and well balanced reference for those wanting to wage wars of hatred and shameless anger.

Perhaps should such situations arise again like this, and I fear they will regardless of efforts from others to stem the blood, that you could simply copy and paste your above message into the thread, as a means of saying " Back off everyone, Time Out "

Thank you again for replying. Just seeing that "Staff" icon means that you are aware of who said what to whom.

All the best to everyone, Laz :-)

...yeah...don't post it on the boards...hear that?...
