As you can see, Laura, we are a tight-lipped group. I too am a self-taught artist, if you don't count the Jon Gnagy art kit I received as a kid. I say go for broke and don't listen to many folks because we all have our own prejudices and biases. Go for what feels right for you---unless you are going for photo-realistic and then I have to ask, "Why?" I'm sure you will find your own path, if you follow that simple rule. In art, it's a good idea to have a rather tough skin and a strong stubborn streak. I wish you lots of fun and luck in your voyage of self-discovery. :) ---Charles

Hi Laura, it's nice to meet you and I'm so happy that you have joined us here at Artwanted. Although I have had my account here for many years, it's only been in the past year and a half that I have become active. This last month has been particularly time challenging, so I'm doing a bit of catch up with all of the information boards, and daily uploads. In my opinion there is a lot to be said about being classically trained in your craft and so much to be gained in the information learned. On the other hand, being self-taught, I feel, can provide you with a creative freedom without boundaries that can be quite rewarding. I'm so glad to hear you have developed a passion, or even an obsession for your art. I'm looking forward to checking out your gallery and hope you well check out mine as well...... Keep enjoying your art!!!!

Hey there can This is terrible I have progressive MS I’m 54 in a Carehome. I’m so embarrassed I have lesions in my brain I can’t remember one second from the other she’s awful. Please forgive me I don’t wanna lose where you are who you are my name is Stephanie and I have progressive mess I used to do art. My thing was acting and seeing but art is just a thing I like to do because it expresses my feelings. I would love to be a friend of yours because you’re new and I just joined I think of my eighth day today. I’m using auto speak. I’m learning digital and how to cry I can’t really do things quite Philly with my hand with my car. Is it difficult but I’m learning and I’m not giving up anyways I would love to look at your art I’m gonna go try OK well I have way to send something OK thank you , Stephanie
