Self Portrait

Nestling in the shadows of fir and oak trees in the queen of hills, Simla, I spent my childhood observing nature very closely. Growing up in the comforting shadows and sweet scent of pines I always valued the miraculous scenic beauty. Colors attracted me and I picked up the paint brush at a very young age.

To making the pedestal of my education strong I got a few degrees and painting was always a hobby. I did masters in psychology and MBA in Simla. The lavishness of nature kept me close to colors.

After having a degree and good job offers, the stillness in the air in Simla did not give me peace. Something inside me was fretful and discontented. It did not take me long to discover the artist in me and give up my job.

With Paintastic Arts I found myself. Dreams on canvas define me. As I went on to discover the colors I discovered myself. A white canvas to me is like an unexplored world. I strongly believe that like the people around us affect us so do the paintings. I am personally inclined towards meaningful and blissful paintings filled with colors. Like every popular quotation has a story behind it so does a painting. As I look back, my painting speaks the various phases and thoughts of my life.

As a keen observer of nature and people, I like to bring it out on canvas. Spiritual India has always fascinated me and I tried to bring the enlightenment in the ‘Buddha’ collection, the elegance of women in ‘Panache’ collection, the charisma of nature in ‘Landscapes and seascapes’ and the mysterious world in my ‘Abstract’ collection.

On a professional front, I got appreciation and work. I feel blessed to have not only got orders and but also the space to paint without any boundaries. Besides having done some projects for hotels in India Surya Mcleod Mcleodganj, Radisson Simla etc. I have lighted the walls of numerous homes with my paintings in Simla, Dharamshala, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Delhi etc. I have exported my work in Dubai and Sri Lanka and exhibited my work in India. I have a gallery in the magnificent hills of Simla. I am sure that I will explore the world through the medium of colors.
