Self Portrait

Roxie's photography evokes emotions and mood from dramatic elements in landscape composition. Roxie hopes to stir feelings and inspiration in her audience. Being a life long New Englander Roxie tries to capture on film the elements that make New England unique from any other place in America. Roxie attended Greenfield Community College for media production and has taught many art and photography classes throughout the New England area. Her work is in many private collections in New England and has been published in many medias including New England's Lighthouses: A Photographic Portrait published by Twin Lights publishing, and in the Portland Press Herald. Some of her images have even been featured by the Weather Channel. She donates her artwork on a regular basis for local fundraising efforts. Her portfolio of fall foliage speaks of her colorful elements, and makes up much of her portfolio.

"I grew up in the rolling hills of the Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts. The rich green landscapes, the Connecticut river and endless days of outdoor exploring helped develop my photographer's eye. I've been building my portfolio of images for the past 16 years, and I am always adding more to it as often as possible. I relocated to the coast of Maine in 2001. I've captured amazing photos of New England lighthouses, weather, scenery and New England life, I sometimes am surprised by what captures my eye next! Either at the coast or deep in the White Mountains, I always have my camera in hand.

I shoot 35mm film and I have various cameras that I use for my images. I do often shoot black and white film for a sepia tone result."

Roxie is currently working on a book project about trees and their personalities to be released sometime in 2006.
