Emeline and Claudia Tate are sisters and artists. They have participated in over twenty exhibitions in London and five in California. The Tate Sisters continually display art in their house in London and use the ground floor as a gallery which is open by appointment.
As siblings, the Tate Sisters exert a constant influence on each other when developing their art. They provide one another with a steady stream of both inspiration and constructive criticism. They work together with one vision and twice the inspiration.
Emeline has recently moved to California, while Claudia continues to live and work in London. This is an exhilarating and challenging time for them both. An ocean apart, they are maintaining their artistic collaboration online, sending photographs of work in progress to each other in cyberspace.
Words, colours, and images are used to express their ideas - which are inspired by overheard conversations, things seen, and personal experiences.
Acrylic, oil, or gloss paint is applied in blocks, or stencilled on to canvas, denim, or plastic. They also use a type-writer to type directly on canvas, and carve plaster to create individual letter shapes
Their paintings are available to buy as priced - or make an offer
