Self Portrait

Artist Stacey Wexler makes drawings that touch on the psychology of communication. In her creations of both large paper paintings and intimate, small-scale videos she accentuates phobias, mental acuity, and the fascination with morbidity. A hallmark of her work is the combination of mixed media and the tactile qualities inherit in the mediums. In works that exhibit a strong sensibility, she is able to simultaneously explore the visceral and the obtuse.

Wexler’s work has been exhibited at venues throughout the United States and internationally, in Italy, Germany and Russia. She is an adjunct professor in the Department of Art and Architecture at Los Angeles City College, Los Angeles CA. Wexler holds an MFA from Claremont Graduate University and a BFA from The University of the Arts. She also attended Art Center College of Design with a specialization in computer graphics. She is presently represented by The House Gallery in Salt Lake City, Utah.
