He joined the Zambia National Visual Arts Council in 2000 which has helped him develop and advance his art career. Currently he is working from his home studio space in Lusaka. Currently he is working as a full time painter and researcher. In 2019 upon his realization, he was struck by the poor art studios and unproductive working culture among-st many young Zambians visual artists. He was appalled to discover that the local visual art scene has no permanent studio spaces where artists could be working from year in year out and being an avid Zambian artist himself he felt in a position to address this obvious need. Artists encouraged by the positive mind set changes in their perceptions implored Aubrey Chali to build permanent fee paying studio spaces. Touched by the artists’ desperation the decision was made to build permanent affordable fee paying art studio spaces. With much encouragement and support from his life partner and wife, Chalinism Concepts Art Studio was born. Chalinism Concepts Art Studio refers to the strong affordable fee paying permanent art studio spaces foundation. The studio currently has 3 volunteer trustees most of whom have the passion for the development and promotion of sustainable art, culture, tourism and economy.
