Like so many members of ArtWanted I too am a self taught painter and am never happier than when absorbed on a new subject. I'm never short of ideas. My profession as an English language teacher has taken me to several interesting countries Whilst working for the British Council. We live in the UK in Wales (home to the famous poet, Dylan Thomas) in two little cottages clinging to the steep sides of a wet Welsh mountain in between the hills and the sea. Immersed in nature there's plenty to inspire me.
I like to paint any subject, in any media but I do have a penchant for portraits. I've always believed that the whole of one's life and destiny ( sometimes )can be seen on the face. The eyes and the mouth tell all!
My paintings tend to be primitive and spontaneous as I'm completely without discipline ( or patience ). Everything I do is dashed off whilst the mood or the muse is upon me. Although I have been very lucky to have quite a number of commissions for my portraits.
It's been wonderful to be able to view the works of the artists portfolios. All the works posted on the site are amazing and quite formidable. It both teaches and inspires me. It's lovely to be among like minded people. ArtWanted is a brilliant site, so glad I found you all.
