ABOUT ME: I have always considered myself to be creative in many aspects of my life, but one of my favorite avenues to express myself is through art. I'm 35, and have been sketching and painting since early childhood, and have been exploring photography since I was about 15. I am a self taught artist, and feel my artistic nature flows out of me with ease, and yet I find it to be challenging in an exciting and positive way.
ABOUT MY WORK:Through the years, my work has consisted of surreal collages, photography, as well as portraits of people and animals. My main focus is of cats, as I feel they have affected my life in wonderful ways. Cats fascinate me because of the various ways in which they communicate through their body language, and facial expressions, which I feel makes them interesting subjects for art. I hope my cat pieces convey the happiness they bring me, as well as my love and respect for our feline friends. I hope you like my other images as well. All of them are special to me, I paint from my heart, and creating art is an energetic yet peaceful stiring of my soul.
My work has been shown in several Chicago area art galleries, and libraries. I've had individual and group showings. I have won a couple 1st place photography awards, honorable mentions, and magazine spots for "Chicagoland Tails" magazine. My clients include private collectors, and "Harmony House", a no-kill, cageless cat shelter in Chicago. And I sell my feline art, and handmade catnip toys at a lovely and unique Chicago area pet boutique called 'Wigglyville'.
