Artist Bio

I was born in San Francisco, California in 1977, and was raised in the Bay Area. Sadly, though I did visit them frequently, I took for granted the great wealth of modern art museums and fine art galleries throughout the Bay Area. I now live in a smaller town that desperately tries to call itself a city (and fails miserably) in the Nevada high desert. Though this area is rich in traditional authentic Western/Cowboy Art and culture, and I do deeply appreciate it, I feel almost starved for modern and classical art, and I'm grateful that cyberspace can satiate that ache to a point.

As an aspiring artist, I work in a variety of media and styles, but oil pastels tend to be my favorite for their rich colors and flexability, and I am forever in love with equine art. I am also a die hard otaku, though I have rarely worked in the anime/manga style to date, and I love fantasy and mythology, as well. Much of this is expressed in my art, however, I am most often inspired by music, literature, and a raw emotional need to create.

I have had very little to no formal art training. I am largely self taught, and am continuing to study independently through observation, experimentation, and the exploration of color, light, composition, form, and various styles. I look forward to learning more from all of you.
